Julia The Whale (EP)

The title track is based on the true story of the 52 Hz Whale: a unique and mysterious whale discovered by marine mammal researcher Bill Watkins. This illusive mammal emits sound at 51.6 Hz - a frequency no other whale can hear. She seems fated to swim the lonely seas, calling out to potential mates who are deaf to her voice. It is for this reason that she has become known as ‘The 52 Hz Whale’. I contacted the PMEL acoustic programme, and was granted permission to use Watkins’ original recording of the 52Hz whale - so I like to call this a human-whale duet that allows an unheard voice to be heard again, albeit by a different species.

Golden Tree EP

3 raw blues / rock ‘n’ roll songs, each under 3 minutes long! Inspired by upbeat rock ‘n’ roll from a time when songs had to be short and every second counted.

The music video for Golden Tree, made by the very talented Ninian Doff, showcases 50 ‘no handed bike moves’ performed to the song, and has screened at festivals all over the world including the V&A late and Adam Buxtons Bug.

Territories (Slow Wolf)

SLOW WOLF like the city, but dream of mountains, forests, the sea – and log cabins, they like those too. When not building dens or stalking bison, they make music that seeks to strip away the frivolity of modern life and connect with more basic human emotions; often by summoning imagery of the natural world and the brutal struggles faced in the animal kingdom.
